The origin of May Day

May 1 is a holiday shared by working people all over the world. In July 1889, the Second International, led by Engels, held a congress in Paris. The meeting passed a resolution to provide for a march of international workers on May 1, 1890, and decided to make May 1 the day of the International Labor Day. The Government Administration Council of the Central People's Government made a decision in December 1949 to designate May 1 as Labor Day. After 1989, The State Council basically awarded national model workers and advanced workers once every five years, with about 3,000 people awarded each time. International Labor Day, also known as "May 1st International Labor Day", "International Demonstration Day", is a national holiday in more than 80 countries in the world. It's on May 1st every year. It is a holiday shared by working people all over the world.

According to the Notice of The General Office of the State Council on the arrangement of some holidays in 2024, the specific arrangements of the Labor Day holiday are hereby notified as follows: 1. Labor Day holiday time: May 1 (Wednesday) to May 5 (Sunday), May 6 (Monday) normal work. I wish you all a civilized and safe holiday season!
